Ballymacelligott Senior Ladies are County Junior C Champions 2021

26th October 2021 By Ballymac GAA

Senior Ladies

Congratulations to our Senior Ladies team who defeated Rathmore B on Sunday 24th October in the Junior C Championship Final.  A fantastic achievement for the team and management who have put 100% effort in all season.

Final score Ballymacelligott 4-08 Rathmore B 2-07

A big thank you from the Senior Ladies to their sponsors, Séan Óg’s, for presentation of gear bags ahead of their Championship Final on Sunday.

Match Report.

JUNIOR C CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL

Ballymac 4:08

Rathmore B 2:08

What a privilege to see such a fast paced, clean-cut battle of a game, where both teams gave it their all in an evenly matched battle.

Both sides using their full 5 sub quota. Rathmore came out the strongest going up 1:2 to 0:2. Amy Murphy linking up well with Chloe O’Connor getting fine scores.

Ballymac came out after the water break with a bang, starting with Ellie McElligott scoring a rasper of a goal and followed quickly by a Rosin Rahilly goal. Ballymac had a strong work rate to the half time whistle which saw both teams’ level at the half 2:2 to 0:8.

Both teams lined up for the second half and it was Ballymac who fired first with the young Roisin Rahilly finding the net for the second time after a great solo run. Ballymac went on to score 1:03 unanswered points on the back of a rock-solid defensive play from Ballymac. After the waterbreak it was Ratmore again who put 1:01 unanswered. Time was running out though and Ballymacs great Corner Back Gráinne Galvin put the final score in for a Ballymac victory.

What must be said was it was fantastic to see such a massive crowd to support two wonderful teams.
