Donal Curtin Cup Round 3. Austin Stacks v Ballymac

17th April 2023 By Ballymac GAA

Our Senior Ladies side made the short journey to Connolly Park on Sunday last to take on Austin Stacks in Round 2 of the Donal Curtin Cup.
The first half proved to be an even affair with just the minimum separating the sides at the break the home side leading on a 0-8 to 1-4 scoreline, Jill Quirke with a neat low finish goaling for Ballymac.
The first quarter of the second half continued in the same vein with little between the sides, however two quick Stacks goals midway through the half saw them take control and with their introduction of fresh legs benefitting them, saw them run out winners on a 2-13 to 1-6 scoreline.
Our Girls can be happy with their performance with Niamh Rahilly, Una Kerins, Laura Kelly, Rachel Griffin, Ashling O Connell, Eve Creedon and Caoimhe Carroll especially prominent.
Special mention must also go to Anna Collins and Jill Quirke who both performed excellently in their debut game for the Senior team, the first of many both will hopefully play for the Club!
